  • Personal Statement:

What I love most about being a therapist is being a partner and a witness to the changes my clients make in their lives. I love to see my clients in the process of becoming more loving to themselves and more assertive with others. I love seeing my clients in the process of achieving their goals and improving their relationships. Most of all, I love to see my clients finding the freedom from the "old stuff" as they begin to thrive in their present lives.

I have worked with a wide variety of people through their struggles, transitions, mental health and physical health concerns, relational conflicts, addictions, spiritual struggles and creative blocks. I believe that all people already possess within themselves everything they need to heal and be happy.  My role, is merely  to help you reconnect and remember your truest Self.  As your therapist, I will provide a safe, non-judgmental environment, and collaborate with you in uncovering your own path to balance and wellness.

My Style and Approach

I'm repeatedly reminded, both in my work and in my personal life, about the incredible healing power of being with someone who is fully present and compassionately connected. In working with you, I strive to be that healing presence. While working together I may use a variety of techniques in order to find what will work best for you. These techniques are likely to include dialogue, interpretation, cognitive reframing, awareness exercises, self-monitoring experiments, visualization, journal-keeping, drawing, meditation, reading, hypnotherapy, EMDR, Breathwork, and more. I believe in the mind-body-spirit connection, and work holistically by addressing your concerns on all of these levels. I draw from Western (evidence based) approaches as well as from Eastern (proved by centuries of experience) approaches. If I propose a specific technique that may have special risks attached, I will inform you of that, and discuss with you the risks and benefits of what I am suggesting. I may suggest that you consult with a physical health care provider regarding physical treatments that could help your problems; I refer both to traditional and non-traditional (homeopathic and Eastern medicine) practitioners, and will be glad to discuss with you the pros and cons of various alternatives. I may suggest that you get involved in a therapy or support group as part of your work with me. I'm always willing to discuss how and why I come to the suggestions I make, and to look at alternatives that might work better. You can feel free to ask me to try something that you think will be helpful. You can ask me about my training for working with your concerns, and can request that I refer you to someone else if you decide I'm not the right therapist for you. You are free to leave therapy at any time. I’m dedicated to the highest standards of professional practice and strictly adhere to all the regulations governing private health information.
